Modular homes for homeless cheaper than leaving them on the streets

A pilot project giving rough sleepers “modular mini homes” could prove to be a cheaper way to help people off the streets.

Six men in Cambridge were given use of a purpose-built temporary home, “assembled like Lego”, which cost about £36,000.

That is roughly the same as the average public spending on one person sleeping rough for a year.
