Ban Ki-moon was the guest of honour at this year’s EG UK Cities investor dinner at MIPIM.
The former secretary-general of the United Nations told guests that they were uniquely positioned to make real progress on tackling climate change as, according to UN estimates, real estate accounts for about 40% of the world’s energy consumption and a third of all carbon emissions.
Around 150 international and UK investors, developers and advisers attended the dinner, staged in partnership with MIPIM and Addleshaw Goddard at the Plage Croisette.
