M&G signs jewellery brand at Manchester Arndale

M&G Real Estate has signed family run business Wongs Jewellers to open its second UK store at Manchester Arndale shopping centre. The jeweller brand has signed for a 1,935 sq ft store for a 10-year lease term. Founded in 1979, Wong Jewellery has operated from its current flagship store in Liverpool city centre since 2010. The new Manchester store will open late summer this year. Last month cosmetics retailer Space NK signed for space at Manchester Arndale. CBRE Sovereign Centros, on behalf of M&G Real Estate and Global Mutual, acts as joint asset manager of Manchester Arndale and New Cathedral Street, while Metis Real Estate and Time Retail Partners are the centre’s retained letting agents, with Green & Partners retained lease advisory agents. Peter Wong, Managing Director at Wongs Jewellers, said: “This is such a proud moment for our family. After so many years building the Wongs name in Liverpool, it’s incredibly exciting to be expanding into Manchester.”
