Marylebone refurb offers roof with a view
Astrea Asset Management has secured consent to refurbish 72 Welbeck Street, W1, to deliver 36,000 sq ft of new grade-A space.
The BGY-designed project will be available to let from Q2 2022 and will include a new 3,000 sq ft fully landscaped communal roof terrace boasting west-facing views over central London.
The building is located close to Bond Street station and forms the northern half of an island site alongside the former Welbeck Street car park, which is being redeveloped as a 205-bedroom five-star hotel.

Peter Pulford, head of development at Astrea, which manages the Berkeley Square Estate on behalf of the Abu Dhabi royal family, said: “This project will completely transform 72 Welbeck Street, providing 18,000 sq ft floor plates and building amenity of the highest quality, right next to a major new Crossrail hub and on the doorstep of Marylebone village.”
Edward Charles and CBRE have been jointly instructed as letting agents for the scheme.
