Intu’s shares closed at their lowest value since late March today, dropping 12% over the course of the day to 3.87p. The company faces a a Friday deadline to reach a standstill arrangement with lenders, and has KPMG lined up ready to act as administrator.
Other big fallers in the property sector include Countrywide and Hammerson, which saw share price drops of 11.06% to 88.05p and 7.77% to 95.6p respectively.
Whitbread made it into the FTSE 100’s top fallers in a bad end to the day for the stock markets, after the IMF lowered its global growth forecast. It is now predicting a contraction of 10.2% for the UK’s GDP this year.
