The UK’s largest housebuilder Barratt Developments fell 4.5% during trading, despite results revealing a return to pre-pandemic revenue.
Barratt had reported a large hike in revenue up 41% to £4.8bn, in line with a climb in completions. However, profits were still behind 2019 performance. The company recorded the second sharpest decline on the FTSE 100, ending the day at 709.4p.
Housebuilders across the board were hit in a downbeat day, linked to the pending US jobs report which is expected to reflect ongoing challenges in the market.
