Mare Street Market to open King’s Cross venue
Bar group Barworks is set to open a Mare Street Market venue at Argent’s King’s Cross redevelopment.
Mare Street Market King’s Cross will measure 18,000 sq ft and will be located on Lewis Cubitt Square, N1. The venue will provide retail, dining, co-working and bar concepts.
The venue will feature eight retailers on the ground floor and a day-to-night hospitality and leisure offer across all three floors. This will include a café and co-working space, deli, restaurant and bar, with indoor and outdoor seating for up to 700 covers. It is expected to open in the autumn.

The agreement marks the second-largest retail deal at King’s Cross since Samsung agreed to take 20,000 sq ft in 2018.
The location, which is Barworks’ second Mare Street Market site, will offer 70% more space than the original Mare Street Market in Hackney and is its biggest venture to date.
Argent said the deal follows a solid Q1 trading period for King’s Cross, with retail and F&B sales up by 21% on Q1 2019.
The development is owned by the King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership, made up of pension fund AustralianSuper, clients of Federated Hermes and Argent investors.
Nash Bond and Colliers advised Argent on the deal.
