MAPP secures B Corp status
MAPP has become the largest real estate consultancy in the UK to be awarded B Corp status.
The certification follows a year-long scrutiny of MAPP’s operations to ensure that it is “pursuing purpose beyond profit”.
The globally recognised B Corporation status is more usually associated with overtly ethical brands such as Ben & Jerry’s, Ella’s Kitchen, Innocent, the Body Shop and The Guardian. But a growing number of professional services firms in the UK and worldwide are joining the community, making a commitment to harnessing the power of business to help tackle society’s biggest challenges and develop a more inclusive economy.

MAPP joins a small but growing list of property sector B Corps in the UK, including Igloo Regeneration, WiredScore, Newcore Capital Management and Fore Partnership.
MAPP manages £13bn of property in the UK. It will now be committed to ensuring that all the spaces it manages, as well as its own workplace and staff, conform to the highest social and environmental standards, whether that relates to energy, waste and water use, employee care, diversity or corporate transparency.
MAPP chief executive, Nigel Mapp (pictured), said: “Since our inception 23 years ago, being a force for good and making a meaningful contribution to our communities has been in the company’s DNA. There is an authentic correlation between the principles of B Corporation and the practices and standards we aspire to, so pursuing this accreditation felt like a natural progression in the MAPP story.”
