Mapletree has secured consulting and engineering company Wood for 119,424 sq ft of office space at Green Park in Reading.
Wood, which is headquartered in Aberdeen and staffs 36,000 professionals across 60 countries, will relocate its Reading workforce from its Shinfield Park site to 400 Longwater Avenue in August 2024.
Rent was quoted at £40 per sq ft. It was one of Green Park’s first buildings to be awarded platinum WELL certification.
Mapletree said the move will provide its latest occupier with a best-in-class workspace that will encourage positive employee physical and mental health, attract new talent and bolster project delivery.
Other tenants at Green Park include mobile network operator Three UK, which signed for some 119,000 sq ft of space at 450 Longwater Avenue in 2021.
The deals at 400 Longwater Avenue and 450 Longwater Avenue represent two of the largest deals in the region in the past five years.
Rory Carson, Mapletree’s vice president of asset management in the UK, said: “Wood joins the Green Park community at an exciting time. We’ve already seen the impact that Green Park Station has had on the park’s connectivity.
“Alongside this, Mapletree is kick-starting its £7.9m investment programme to introduce a range of new amenities to further enhance our residents’ work lives and wellbeing.”
