Macquarie Asset Management agrees £30m healthcare facility deal

Macquarie Asset Management, on behalf of Just Group, has provided around £30m to help finance the development of a multi-purpose healthcare service facility in Southampton by specialist developer Prime. The facility will be operated by University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. The forward-funding agreement will enable the development of a sterile services facility, aseptic pharmacy, office and car parkat the Adanac Health and Innovation Campus, a short distance from Southampton General Hospital. The new facility, which is due for completion in 2025, is expected to provide hospital support services, research and non-residential care facilities to the NHS trust, while creating capacity for expanded clinical services at the general hospital site. Just Group is a retirement specialist and has previously partnered with Macquarie Asset Management to help finance the development and operation of nine secure real estate assets across the hospitality, education, local authority and health sectors.
