LSL Property selects former Aviva Life chief as new chair
LSL Property Services has appointed former Aviva UK and Ireland Life chief executive David Barral as chair designate.
Barral has joined the board as an independent non-executive director, and will also join the nominations and remuneration committees.
He will replace Bill Shannon as chair. Shannon is retiring from the board after LSL’s AGM in 2023.

Barral is also non-executive chairman of Curtis Banks. He served in a number of senior positions at Aviva, until his appointment as chief executive of the UK and Ireland Life arm in 2011, which he held for four years.
His non-executive appointments include senior independent director at LV Group, independent customer champion at Quilter and chairman of Embark Group and Rowanmoor Group.
David Stewart, group chief executive at LSL, said: “I know from our discussions to date that he recognises just how well positioned we are to grow, and I look forward to working with him to help deliver our exciting plans.”
