LLDC freshens up Olympic Park with Peppermint F&B deal
Hospitality operator Peppermint Events has signed a deal to take up around 41,352 sq ft of dining and events space at the London Legacy Development Corporation’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, E20.
The deal is thought to be one of the biggest food and beverage deals of the year in sq ft terms.
The event and concert bar operator will take up the space on a seven-year lease, with the option to extend. It covers the operation of the Podium building and external spaces situated by the ArcelorMittal Orbit and the Slide.

The venue will bring those areas together under a new brand, called Riverside East.
Peppermint will invest in transforming the offer, which will include a rooftop garden, a 300-cover café/restaurant and hospitality space across two floors and a dedicated street food area.
It is set to open this spring and will host outdoor screenings, DJs, markets and seasonal events.
Peppermint has exclusively operated the bars contract for American Express BST Hyde Park since its inception in 2013. Its other events include Camp Bestival, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, All Points East and the Lytham and Rewind festivals.
Edward Fane, head of venues at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, said the deal will create a “vibrant food hospitality and event destination space”. He added that the park is “constantly evolving with new offerings”.
Matt Simkin, head of venues and partnerships at Peppermint, said: “This collaboration between the London Legacy Development Corporation and Peppermint is really exciting. We are thrilled to be part of this transformative project that will not only bring life and energy to this exceptional space but promises to be a hub that caters to the diverse needs of the local community. We plan to create a sought-after multi-purpose destination for unforgettable experiences.”
Thomas Rose, co-founder of P-Three, which advised LLDC on the deal, said: “It is so exciting to deliver a landmark food and beverage concept of this scale at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Totalling more than 41,352 sq ft, is one of the most significant food and leisure venues in London and represents the first stage of the new F&B story at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park with the new riverside restaurant quarter at EastBank due to open later in 2024.”
