Liz Truss wants 500,000 homes a year

Liz Truss has unveiled a three-point growth plan that includes a target to build 500,000 homes a year.

Speaking at the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester yesterday, the former prime minister said that corporation tax had to come down and UK oil and gas reserves should be exploited.

There was too much focus on “protecting newts or installing a bat bridge” rather than building homes, she said.
