L&G confirms Quilter deal at Senator building
Legal & General and joint venture partner PGGM have completed a leasing deal with financial services firm Quilter, for 93,600 sq ft at Senator, 85 Queen Victoria Street, EC4.
Quilter will occupy space across six floors at the building near to Cannon Street station, which has recently undergone a refurbishment designed by Ben Adams architects to provide 150,000 sq ft of space, and features a new 5,700 sq ft terrace on the seventh floor.
The firm’s current home at Millennium Bridge House, EC4, has been sold for circa £95m to Angelo Gordon and Beltane Asset Management, which are eyeing a potential revamp of the riverside property after obtaining vacant possession in September 2020.

The joint venture between Legal & General Capital and PGGM, known as Vantage, acquired Senator in 2015 from Angelo Gordon.
Nigel Fuller, senior fund manager at Legal & General, said: “This new letting demonstrates the huge demand we are seeing for this type of work space from blue chip occupiers, such as Quilter, who recognise the importance of its work environment to improve its staff’s well-being and productivity.”
Phil Purves, head of estates for Quilter, added: “The building is situated in a location well known to us, and we look forward to realising the benefits of consolidating our London-based operations in an outstanding working environment for our colleagues and clients.”
JLL and Allsop acted jointly for Legal & General, and Cushman & Wakefield acted for Quilter.
