Pipe manufacturer Lawton Tubes has acquired the former Sandvik plant in Torrington Avenue, Coventry, with plans for a £20m redevelopment.
The company will redevelop the two-storey building into a 120,000 sq ft of manufacturing, storage and office space.
The deal comes after Stockholm-based engineering firm Sandvik moved its production facilities to its home country.
Robert Lawton, director at Lawton Tubes, said: “We are growing year-on-year and we needed more space. The opportunity to buy a property across the road from our headquarters was just too good to miss.
“We are looking forward to investing and creating a state-of-the-art facility that our team and, indeed, the whole city can be proud of.”
Holt Commercial acted on behalf of Lawton Tubes.
