Birmingham City Council has approved Lavender Property Group’s plans to build a 317-bed student accommodation scheme in Birmingham.
The council had decided to postpone making a decision until the Higher Education Statistics Agency released student demand data for the 2024/25 academic year. The application has been subsequently approved with nine votes for and three against.
The development involves building two blocks of five and six storeys on a car park fronting Cecil Street and Cliveland Street.
The accommodation will comprise 192 studios and 125 beds in clusters of five, nine and 12 bedrooms.
