Labour has pledged to install solar panels on the rooftops of a million social and low-income homes in a £2bn programme to tackle climate change and fuel poverty.
A government led by Jeremy Corbyn would also offer a £350m package of loans and grants to help a further 750,000 households to install solar panels, under plans for a “green industrial revolution” unveiled today.
The plans came as Labour faced continued criticism from business groups over its plans to renationalise the £64bn power and gas transmission and distribution networks.
