Voters are backing Labour on housing after a clear divide opened up between the opposition and the Conservative government.
Just one in 10 under-50s think the Conservatives have a better plan after the prime minister scrapped targets for new homes and ruled out building on the green belt.
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said last week that his party would be for “the builders not the blockers”.
YouGov polling for The Times shows that 17% of voters trust Sunak and the Conservatives more to make the right decisions about building new housing. Almost twice as many, 32%, trust Starmer and Labour.
However, 37% say they trust neither main party.
