Joint venture proposes £6m retail scheme for Barry, South Wales

Centros Properties and Barry Action have submitted a detailed planning and listed building application for a £6m shopping centre in Barry, South Wales. The proposals envisage the redevelopment of Barry’s listed former municipal buildings as 3,900 sq m (42,000 sq ft) of shops and a new library.

Barry Action is a partnership between the Welsh Development Agency and Vale of Glamorgan Council. Hillier Parker is advising Centros, and DTZ Debenham Thorpe is acting for the council. Architect is Lyons, Sleeman & Hoare.
