Jacob Rees-Mogg is being tipped to become levelling up secretary in a Liz Truss cabinet.
The current minister for Brexit opportunities and government efficiency, who is pledging to cull 91,000 roles from the civil service, would replace Greg Clarke in a reshuffle if Truss moves in to Number 10.
The former levelling up secretary could be cast into the political wilderness, after saying that Truss’s plans were
a “holiday from reality”.
