ITV South Bank HQ up for £150m
ITV has instructed Knight Frank to sell the London Television Centre headquarters on the South Bank for more than £150m.
The site spanning 2.5 acres has 100m fronting the River Thames. The mixed-use development has detailed planning permission for a 31-storey residential tower comprising 213 apartments (22 affordable), ground floor retail, with office and studio space, totalling 525,000 sq ft. It was designed by Hopkins Architects.
The building has been ITV’s headquartered for more than 45 years. The site currently includes a 25-storey office tower, a four-storey adjoining podium and further studio and office space, along with an underground car park.

Peter Copley, property director at ITV, said: “Having successfully relocated the business to modern flexible offices in Holborn and studios in W12, and announced our new strategy, ITV’s requirements have changed.”
Copley added that the development offers the chance to “create a landmark development in the heart of London’s creative quarter”.
James Keegan, partner at Knight Frank, said: “The opportunity to redevelop 2.5 acres of freehold property in Central London on the Thames riverside comes up once in a lifetime.”
ITV announced it had scrapped plans to redevelop the television centre last October, instead seeking to remain in Holborn and White City and sell the freehold.
ITV bought the London Television Centre complex from Coal Pension Properties, a fund managed by LaSalle Investment Management, for £56m at the start of 2013.
