IRES picks new chief executive
Former Quintain Developments Ireland boss Eddie Byrne is to succeed Margaret Sweeney as chief executive of Irish Residential Properties REIT as the company works through a strategic review.
He will take up the new role as designate from 8 April, with formal succession taking place on 1 May. Sweeney announced plans to step down last October after more than six years in the role.
Byrne has more than 20 years’ experience at executive level in the real estate sector. Most recently, he was joint managing partner at Quintain Developments Ireland, where he co-established the Irish operation that achieved more than 5,000 planning permissions, built and sold some 1,500 rental and private homes, and raised a significant amount of growth capital.
