Industrial consortium plans speculative Midlands scheme

The consortium behind one of the largest industrial sites in the Midlands is planning to build up to 250,000 sq ft speculatively.

Frontier Estates, Opus Land and Prudential are planning to build out the second phase of development at The Hub, the £150m industrial park on the 95-acre former IMI site at Lion Park in Witton. Phase one comprised an 85,000 sq ft building for IMI Components.

The consortium, known as Fropus, has already spent £13m on ground works and remediation of the site. A source said: “Compared to that cost, the capital commitment is a drop in the ocean. They will go ahead speculatively.”
