Ilke Homes has raised another £100m from investors in what is thought to be the largest fundraising by a British modular housebuilder.
The latest investment will allow the company to quadruple its output, by adding another factory site. Ilke currently builds around 1,000 homes a year at its factory in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.
The funding round was led by a new investor, Fortress, the American buyout group that bid for Morrisons last year. Ilke has also received more money from its existing backers TDR Capital, the private equity owner of Asda, and Sun Capital, a private equity firm set up by Pizza Express mogul Hugh Osmond.
