Andrew Robertson, director of private care at Moorfields Eye Hospital, said that the medical facility “is world-renowned as a centre of excellence for ophthalmic care” and that the hospital was glad to extend its offering in “the heart of London’s clinical district”.
He added: “This fully refurbished building, with its laser eye surgery suite, operating theatre and consulting rooms, provides patients with more choice when accessing private services and treatments.”
The building recently underwent extensive renovation by the estate, which worked with Sonnemann Toon Architects to deliver a contemporary, self-contained medical building. The site now offers a new lift and full level access, updated mechanical and electrical systems, plus diagnostics suites and consulting rooms.
Richard North, head of commercial lettings at the Howard de Walden Estate, said: “The past year has been particularly busy across our medical portfolio, as we continue to meet evolving occupier demand and work closely with tenants to ensure our buildings meet the highest quality standards that the Harley Street Medical Area is renowned for.
“These two new significant signings attest to the prestigious reputation the area and Howard de Walden has in maintaining and developing historical properties to an expert medical standard. We are delighted that the Moorfields Private Eye Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ have committed to further space within the Harley Street Medical Area.”
