Homes England selects Countryside to build up to 900 homes
Homes England has selected Countryside as the preferred development partner on two major sites, which will see the developer build up to 900 new homes.
The first site is located in Spencer’s Park, Hertfordshire, which will see 600 homes, 35% of which will be affordable, built on the 22-hectare site.
A new school will also be built and construction work will begin in Q2 2022. All homes are to be built using modern methods of construction.

The second site is located in Chatham, Kent, which will see two developments – Brunel and Riverside – built within the Chatham History Dockland Conservation Area.
The 2.7-hectare site will deliver 274 homes of which 25% will be affordable, as well as 11,000 sq ft of commercial space.
Work is expected to begin on Brunel in Q4 2022 while Riverside is expected to begin in Q4 2023.
Stephen Kinsella, chief land and development officer at Homes England, said:
“With Countryside as the development partner for these significant schemes at Chatham and Hemel Hempstead, we’re unlocking 900 new homes in these communities.
“Homes England is open for business and continuing to support housebuilding recovery during this challenging time.”
