Cheshire West and Chester Council received £14.7m to aid the delivery of 737 homes across five different sites.
Councils in Bournemouth, Bristol, Hastings and Hull also received funds. The councils will be required to deliver homes at a faster pace compared to the local average and each site will incorporate modern methods of construction to achieve this.
Stephen Kinsella, chief land and development officer at Homes England, said: “This funding will enable local authorities to prepare their sites for development and to bring forward the construction of homes. New homes will then be built out at pace using modern methods of construction.”
The finance is part of the government’s £350m Local Authority Accelerated Construction programme, which aims to speed up housing delivery.
