Homes at former Eastbourne TJ Hughes approved
The Noé Group’s real estate investment arm, Capreon, has gained consent to redevelop a former TJ Hughes building in Eastbourne into a mixed-use scheme.
The site, on Terminus Road, will provide 65 new flats and more than 7,640 sq ft of commercial space. Capreon said it will appoint a developer now that planning has been granted.
The property has been vacant since the retailer closed the store in 2019.

The property has been vacant since the retailer closed the store in 2019.
Capreon worked with local partners The Rachel Charitable Trust and architectural firm The Harris Partnership on the plans.
The scheme was unanimously approved by Eastbourne Borough Council last month.
Zvi Noé, founding partner at Capreon, said: “[The redevelopment] will give developers a chance to bring new investment to the town, through a scheme that will provide fine homes and breathe new life into the former TJ Hughes building.”
Noé added: “In working with our local partners, we have been able to retain the character of the original building and design a high quality redevelopment that meets the needs of Eastbourne’s community.
Ian Perrell, director at The Harris Partnership, said: “The project is a great example of community-led placemaking design. We’ve kept the soul of the original building through the façade retention while providing a modern, sustainable, mixed-use development.”
