Skye residents are going without urgent medical care because NHS workers have been priced off the island by holiday home investors, a local councillor has claimed.
Neil Campbell, a former paramedic and now chairman of Portree and Braes community council, said families are facing unprecedented challenges finding a home because properties “are quickly being snapped up for Airbnb”.
A report published last week by a business body revealed that there are 1,700 unfilled vacancies on the island, including jobs in essential services.
