Higher education body to occupy former WeWork Birmingham office
Euro Property Investments has secured QA Higher Education as a tenant for 45,000 sq ft at Birmingham’s Louisa Ryland House, which was formerly occupied by WeWork.
The higher education provider has agreed a 15-year lease across the ground, first, part second and third, fourth and fifth floors of the Grade II listed building. It is located at 44 Newhall Street.

The deal is thought to represent the city’s biggest office letting of the year.
Louisa Ryland House recently underwent a multi-million-pound refurbishment and now comprises 80,000 sq ft of grade-A office accommodation over six floors. New tenant amenities have been added, including an external courtyard and café.
The building will also offer 26,000 sq ft of flexible office space, ranging from six to 100-plus desks, and conference and meeting facilities, operated by Re-Defined.
Theo Holmes, senior director and head of office agency at CBRE in Birmingham, which advised the landlord alongside JLL, said: “The letting to QA Higher Education means the building completes with an anchor tenant and flex service provider in place.
“For QA Higher Education, in addition to the quality of the space and the teaching environment it will provide for students, on a practical level the ability to occupy at high density and having its own entrance to the building were key factors in its decision to relocate to Louisa Ryland House.”
