Heineken will today unveil plans for a £44m investment in 500 of its 2,900 pubs and create 1,000 jobs.
The investment in its Star Pubs & Bars business is more than twice the £20m it spent last year and follows the acquisition in August of 1,900 former Punch Taverns pubs for £1.1 billion.
The Dutch brewer said that the programme would include 140 major projects with an average spend of £170,000, “tailored to ensure each pub’s proposition is relevant” to the locality.
