Harris takes the helm at Milligan as founder steps back
Stuart Harris has been promoted to run Milligan, as founder John Milligan takes a step back.
Milligan, who set up the London-based developer 21 years ago, will become executive chairman.
Former chief operating officer Harris said: “Over the last few years Milligan has been preparing for this exciting strategic change. We are approaching projects in a different way, facilitating collaboration between the public and private sectors, creating powerful, strategic partnerships with like-minded businesses, meaning we can deliver better value and expertise for all stakeholders.”

Harris added that he would form part of the “key leadership team” with Milligan and CIO Mike Anderson, “as we continue to build strategic relationships and develop projects in the UK and Europe”.
The new leadership structure will come into effect immediately, with Milligan’s current chair, Rupert Clarke, becoming a non-executive adviser to the board.
Milligan recently announced a strategic role with the John Lewis Partnership exploring opportunities in its property portfolio for the development of build-to-rent apartments.
Milligan said: “Celebrating our 21st anniversary is a very proud moment. We have achieved a lot and had some great fun along the way. When I set up Milligan, we were ‘creating places where people were inspired to shop’. We are still creating inspiring places but have broadened our expertise to focus on mixed-use development, transforming ourselves into a new breed of developer.”
