Guitar giant comes to Oxford Street
Gibson, the Nashville guitar maker, is opening its first big store outside the US just off Oxford Street, W1.
The firm will open a 4,500 sq ft “Gibson Garage” at 61-62 Eastcastle Street in Fitzrovia.
It is a relatively new push into physical retail for Gibson, which opened its first store in Nashville in 2021.

Cesar Gueikian, Gibson president and chief executive, said: “As one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, London has always been an influential musical ecosystem and became an obvious choice of where to open our next Gibson Garage.
“The Gibson Garage in Nashville has had an extraordinary impact on the music scene in addition to becoming a global music destination, and we are thrilled to bring the Garage to London.”
Alongside being able to buy guitars, the space will be used to host weekly live music events, panel discussions and, twice a year, an exhibition of the works of British artists and photographers.
