Meanwhile, Mark Anderson will join the board as a non-exec director on 1 September, becoming a member of the audit, nomination and remuneration committees. Anderson is currently property director at Whitbread and previously managed Sainsbury’s property estate.
Carrie Heiss will also join the GPE executive committee, having been appointed as HR director.
The appointments come as Nick Hampton steps down as chair of the audit committee to be succeeded by Vicky Jarman in September. He will continue to be a member of the audit committee and will also become a member of the remuneration committee.
GPE chair Richard Mully said: “I am delighted to be welcoming Dan, Mark and Carrie to GPE. Their broad range of skills, experience and knowledge will be of huge value to GPE as we continue to innovate, embrace change and position GPE to deliver on customers’ needs, capitalising on emerging opportunities. The board and I very much look forward to working with them over the coming years.”
