Godwin Developments targets BTR growth
Godwin Developments is driving forward its suburban BTR strategy with a hunt for land and a new resi capital head.
Godwin is seeking land around the South East for schemes of 30-100 homes. It is looking for both consented and unconsented sites of more than two acres around Oxford, Cambridge, Milton Keynes and Bedford.
The company has promoted land director James Mulcare (pictured) to head of residential capital markets. Mulcare will support site acquisitions, development, and work to secure funding for residential schemes, with a specific focus on single-family BTR.

It follows the appointment of Lindsay McCombe last year, as senior director to drive BTR expansion.
Stephen Pratt, board director at Godwin Developments, said: “This promotion recognises [James Mulcare’s] achievements and increased involvement with institutional investors and capital markets in the past 12 months. It also complements his continued focus on the BTR market, and the delivery of property development projects that align with investors’ requirements.”
Mulcare added: “Residential investment and particularly BTR is a key focus for us as we seek to deliver individual assets and portfolio opportunities for domestic and international institutional investors.
“While the PBSA sector is a more mature market in the UK, the BTR, and especially single-family BTR sector, continues to grow rapidly and is at a very exciting stage.”
Godwin Developments has a portfolio of 269 suburban BTR schemes in Doncaster, Nottingham and Ely, with further city centre, student and mixed-use schemes in Sheffield, Nottingham, Derby, Worcester and Bolton.
