The developer behind a proposed new data centre close to Heathrow has updated its plans, in the face of what it calls new “market demands in the post-pandemic economy”.
Link Park Heathrow has submitted an outline planning application for a 592,000 sq ft, Nicholas Webb Architects-designed data centre, including offices, internal plant and equipment and a substation, at its 10.7-acre site in Buckinghamshire.
A planning statement from design consultancy Barton Willmore said the updated plans reflect earlier comments and objections from parties including Network Rail over the redevelopment of a tailhead site on the land, adding that “a revised layout [reflected] stakeholder feedback and market demands in the post-pandemic economy”.
