David Mann, executive partner at Tuffin Ferraby Taylor, and co-founder and co-chair of Freehold, said: “These appointments are important additions to the dedicated and hardworking board of six people, which has been in place since Freehold started eight years ago.
“They will contribute to delivering our aspirations for the future to keep Freehold relevant and support our members, industry bodies and companies to continue improving diversity across our sector.”
Saleem Fazal, partner at Taylor Wessing, and fellow co-founder and co-chair of Freehold, added: “Their diverse experience and talent will be invaluable in building on the success of Freehold as we enter the next stage of the group’s development. The recent Stonewall top 100 employers index has highlighted that there is still lots to do.”
The board is rounded off by Fazal; Mann; Brian Bickell, chief executive of Shaftesbury; Brie Stevens-Hoare QC of Hardwicke Chambers; Ollie Saunders, director at JLL; and Chris Edwards, corporate social responsibility and diversity manager at Travers Smith.
Freehold, which is a networking forum for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender professionals working in the real estate sector, has more than 1,000 members and holds regular events. It also offers a mentoring scheme and supports several charities.
