The administrators of electronics chain Maplin have made 63 head office staff redundant after failing to find a buyer.
PwC said that despite ongoing talks between the retailer and its suppliers no buyer was forthcoming and therefore 55 roles would go in London and eight in Rotherham.
The company’s 217 shops remain open and trading but Toby Underwood, joint administrator at PwC, warned: “Due to a lack of interest we may be required to initiate a controlled closure programme.
