Paddington Basin

Westminster council has appointed Farrells, to draw up plans for a £350m redevelopment of the former North Westminster Community School between North Wharf Road and Harrow Road in central London’s Paddington.

The scheme will include a mix of uses including around 600 homes, offices, retail, public and private open space and community facilities.

Plans are expected to be submitted for detailed planning permission in the next 12 months.

Councillor Colin Barrow, Deputy Leader of Westminster City Council and Cabinet Member for Finance, said: “At the heart of this redevelopment is the aim to build strong, vibrant communities and encourage enterprise, among other objectives.

“As owners of the site, we want the redevelopment to be driven by key considerations such as affordable housing, environmental sustainability and high quality design which is why we’ve appointed Farrells to carry out this vital aspect of the Paddington Basin area.”
