Activist investor Elliott Advisers has said it would back Persimmon’s former boss to take over as chief executive of Taylor Wimpey.
The US hedge fund sent a letter to fellow shareholders in the FTSE 100 housebuilder, demanding changes at the top of Taylor Wimpey, after chief executive Pete Redfern announced his intention to resign in December.
Elliott has said Dave Jenkinson would be a strong replacement, as he is credited with turning around York-based Persimmon after the scandals under Jeff Fairburn’s leadership.
