Wednesday
Edinburgh City Council is expected to approve the development of a seven-storey office block next to Haymarket station. Developer Elgin has reconsidered its consented plans to deliver a hotel on the site and now intends to build a 67,651 sq ft office block.
Also in Edinburgh, plans for a mixed-use development, comprising 279 student bedrooms and 62 built-to-rent flats on Salamander Street have been recommended for refusal. Planning officers have noted the scheme does not comply with the local development plan due to its PBSA element, which prevents the delivery of required density of housing on the site.
Thursday
The planning committee at Salford City Council has been recommended to give the go-ahead for the development of two residential buildings of 11 and seven storeys, providing 204 flats on Upper Wharf Street. The scheme is being brought forward by CBRE on behalf of H2O Urban.
In addition, transformation proposals for Pendleton House will be on the table. Pendleton House Ltd is looking to demolish the existing building, which served as Salford Coroners Court until 2005, and construct a part-five, part-six storey block providing 88 affordable homes.
Leon Investments is set to get the nod from the Tower Hamlets Council for the makeover of 1-10 Bishops Square, E1. The developer has proposed to extend the existing building by adding almost 175,000 sq ft of office space and a community hub to the existing 1.1m sq ft scheme.
Friday
The latest UK house price data from Halifax will be revealed. In December, the average house price rose by 3.3% year-on-year to £297,166. On a month-on-month basis, however, house prices fell by 0.2% following five consecutive monthly increases.
