EcoWorld gets consent for 176 flats in Hounslow

EcoWorld London has received unanimous backing to develop 176 flats in Hounslow. The developer, in a joint venture with Hounslow Council, bagged 12 votes in support of the redevelopment of the Triangle site on New Road car park in Feltham. Proposals will see two blocks of 11 and 14 storeys and includes 84 affordable homes, making up 50.3% of the scheme by habitable room. The council will own and let the affordable housing and the remainder will be for private sale. The one-acre site is owned by Lampton360, a development vehicle wholly-owned by the council, and was previously used for allotments. EcoWorld London’s consent follows two major refusals at committee this year. In March, Ealing council refused plans for a £230m scheme  comprising build-to-rent and a new leisure centre. The plans were from EcoWorld London, Ealing Council and its development company Broadway Living. This followed setback in Woking in January, with 929 homes refused at committee.
