ECF signs deal to regenerate Wolverhampton

The English Cities Fund has signed a deal with City of Wolverhampton Council to bring forward sites across the city for regeneration. The joint venture between Muse, Legal & General and Homes England has signed a memorandum of understanding with the city council. It will review potential development sites to deliver new homes, shops, restaurants, offices and public spaces. Areas identified as having regeneration potential will then be brought forward and delivered by the partnership under future agreements. The partnership with Wolverhampton builds on ECF’s existing major investment in the West Midlands. Maggie Grogan, development director at ECF, said: “Wolverhampton is a city full of opportunities and we are delighted to have signed this memorandum of understanding with the city council. “This is a sign of our intent and ambition in the Midlands. We want to work closely with partners to find and deliver opportunities for growth and regeneration that benefit communities for the long term.” Stephen Simkins, deputy leader of City of Wolverhampton Council, said: “We are excited to start working with the team to review sites across the city with a view to unlocking regeneration and economic growth.
