Eastdil said that Fenk is joining the business at a “pivotal moment for global real estate”.
Fenk has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate and financial sectors. Most recently, he served as chief executive of French wealth and asset manager Primonial REIM.
At Primonial, which has some €34bn (£37bn) assets under management, Fenk was directly responsible for the company’s strategic development, investor relations, business development, and financing.
He is credited with transforming the company from a predominantly French real estate platform into a pan-European asset management platform.
Before his role at Primonial REIM, Fenk served as member of the group executive board at the Signa Group, a privately managed international investment and industrial holding company. He has also held management roles across Europe and the US at Helaba, Bawag PSK and HRE Group.
In his new role at Eastdil, Fenk will use his financial expertise and banking relationships to provide clients with creative and effective solutions, including providing credit and special situation-oriented restructuring advice.
Based out of the Frankfurt office, Fenk will work closely with the firm’s EMEA group as well as Eastdil Secured’s senior teams globally.
Eastdil Secured chief executive Roy Hilton March said: “An industry veteran, Juergen possesses exceptional strategic acumen, outstanding investment banking relationships and an unparalleled understanding of European real estate and financial capital markets.”
James McCaffrey, senior managing director and head of the European business at Eastdil Secured, said Fenk’s appointment enhances the EMEA team’s offering “at a time of economic instability”.
