DWS poaches CBRE’s Njagulj to head real estate ESG
DWS has hired CBRE Investors’ ESG chief to pull together ESG for its €67bn (£48bn) real estate platform.
The €859bn asset manager has hired London-based Aleksandra Njagulj as head of ESG for real estate, tasked with enhancing its ESG integration across its global real estate portfolios.
Njagulj has a 20-year background in architectural design, design management and the sustainable built environment. Prior to her role at CBRE Investors, Njagulj was head of the sustainability, R&D and innovation department at Bouygues UK.

Njagulj has a 20-year background in architectural design, design management and the sustainable built environment. Prior to her role at CBRE Investors, Njagulj was head of the sustainability, R&D and innovation department at Bouygues UK.
In 2021, Njagulj won the global Future Proof Real Estate Woman Award as a leader in applying digitalisation, technology, open innovation and sustainability to create a better built environment.
A qualified architect, Njagulj also holds a master’s degree in sustainability leadership from the University of Cambridge.

Currently, €16.6bn of DWS’s €67bn real estate platform is invested in green-label real estate, bearing certifications such as LEED, BREEAM, Energy Star. In addition, 15 of its real estate funds and €36bn have been badged with Green Stars by GRESB.
