Savills has been appointed to sell Ireland’s Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort, which hosted the 2002 Seve Trophy and four Irish Opens, for €45m.
The five-star resort has 145 bedrooms as well as two 18-hole championship golf courses. It sits on a 349-acre estate to the south of Dublin.
Both courses – Druids Glen and Druids Heath – were designed by course designer Pat Ruddy and former Irish golfer Tom Craddock.

The hotel opened in 2002 as a Marriott resort and was fully refurbished in the past four years. Its facilities also include eight conference and event rooms, a spa, a health club and restaurants. There are no brand or management agreements.
Its clubhouse, known as Woodstock House, was built in 1770 by the Earl of Aldborough’s clan and has been used as a writing and recording base by musicians including Mike Oldfield, Rod Stewart, Steve Winwood and Jim Capaldi.
The property is located a short distance from the N11 road, which links to the central M50 motorway.
Druids Glen Hotel and Golf Resort said the resort hosts more than 130,000 visitors per annum. It also has a catchment of 1.9m people within the Greater Dublin area.
The resort said Ireland’s hotel sector continues to perform well, pointing to travel company STR’s findings that the regional luxury revenue per available room grew by 12% in the seven months to July.
It also highlighted that Ireland’s economy is forecasted to expand by 5% in 2018, with expectations of a 2.4% employment growth rate.
Additionally, it noted that Dublin Airport had its “busiest month on record” in June, and that it expects its passenger numbers will exceed 30m this year.
