Directors appointed to oversee Brick by Brick wind-down
Croydon Council and Brick by Brick have appointed an executive chair and non-executive director to the housing company’s board, to help shut down the embattled developer’s operations.
Andrew Percival (pictured), independent chair of the Hemel Place Board, has joined as executive chair. After more than a decade in the Royal Navy, Percival has held director roles at UPP Group Holdings, Vinci and Taylor Woodrow.
Percival was also chair of Stevenage First and a board member of Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

Griff Marshalsay, chair of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead’s property company, has been named as a non-executive director. Marshalsay has more than 30 years of experience in property operations and management for residential developers including Catalyst Housing, Antler Homes, Berkeley Group and Bellway Homes.
The new board members will work with the council to close out the company’s existing developments and use their experiences in client-side development to deliver “high quality” homes for residents in the borough.
The pair join existing directors Duncan Whitfield and Ian O’Donnell on the board with immediate effect.
In July last year, Croydon Council decided to cease funding any additional Brick by Brick schemes and wind the company down once any sites under active construction were completed. This is anticipated to be in summer 2023.
Colm Lacey, the founder and chief executive of the development business, stepped down from his post last August.
