It is a well-flogged horse round these parts that the office door for the housing minister must be a revolving one, so much has the post been passed around the rising (and falling) stars of the Conservative government since 2010.
In July last year, as Marcus Jones became the 12th incumbent in 12 years, we put memories to the test in our strangely popular weekly podcast, EG Like Sunday Morning, with a rousing game of Play Your Housing Ministers Right – in which our very own Emily Wright displayed a frankly astonishing grasp of the varying term lengths the various holders managed to rack up.
Little did we know that, by February 2023, we would be welcoming the Tories’ 15th housing minister.
