Curlew Opportunities will redevelop the site at Poland House, which currently holds 100 student beds, and expand this to include land at the adjacent petrol station.
The new development will comprise four blocks from eight to 12 storeys with 37 shared flats providing 282 rooms, as well as 1,720 sq ft of community space.
Last month, Curlew announced a drive to deliver 5,000 beds in a £340m development pipeline of eight sites, on behalf of its second PBSA fund Curlew Student Trust 2.
It hopes to secure consent for the scheme by the end of the year. Henley Halebrown is the architect and Knight Frank is advising on planning.
