Croydon unanimously approves London’s largest co-living scheme

Croydon Council’s planning committee has approved Tide Construction’s plans for the city’s largest co-living scheme, next to Croydon College.

Tide’s scheme, designed by HTA, comprises 817 bedrooms and 120 apartments in two towers of up to 49 storeys, which will be the world’s tallest modular tower.

The committee highlighted the regeneration of the underutilised vacant land, opposite East Croydon train station. Strategic applications team leader Ross Gentry said: “It’s exactly where we need high density development. It’s a significant quantum of housing of varying types.”
